FAQs

What are the benefits of massage therapy?
Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:
  • Decreased anxiety
  • Enhanced sleep quality
  • Greater energy
  • Improved concentration
  • Increased circulation
  • Reduced fatigue
Is it important to make time for massage therapy?
YES! We make time for what’s important. What’s your body telling you? Remember evening appointments are available, as well as weekends. New mom? No problem! I encourage you to bring your baby with you during your session.
I've heard massage is temporary. Is this true?
True: but everything you do for yourself physically is temporary. You enjoy food but get hungry again. You get a great night sleep but will get tired again. We practice regular hygiene and we don’t go weeks without brushing our teeth or taking a shower. One great workout doesn't last for months.
Our bodies have needs that require regular attention. Massage and other health maintenance tasks are indeed temporary, but that doesn’t mean they are not valuable. A headache, stiff neck, back pain, stress or other ailments do not go away on their own. Action needs to be taken to make it better. Massage is a natural way to help us feel good.
I've had a poor experience in the past. How is Ohana different?
Let’s fix that! Your session is all about you. I strive on focusing on your problem area and communicate to you about your pain and the pressure you desire. I’ll also educate you on your body and answer any questions you have. You’ll have 100% of my attention.
How should I justify the cost of massage therapy?
Healthy is not a luxury. It’s a necessity! Think of all the benefits: a good night’s sleep, pain reduction, stress relief, and feel good to do the things you enjoy! Remember, not every massage needs to be an hour.
Is getting a massage "weird"?
They don’t have to be weird. Massage therapists take pride in a professional experience to benefit your health. They have over 700+ hours of training. Massages are customized by you and your comfort level. It is a safe, non-sexual environment.
Should I be concerned about my body?
Massage is for everybody and every body. It doesn’t matter how you look. It’s a safe and non-judgmental environment.
I feel guilty getting a massage. How can I justify the need?
It’s okay to care for yourself. If you feel guilty, you’re probably a caring person. Just remember….you can’t care for someone else until you take care of yourself.
